BRAMBLE LEE PRYDE
Bramble Lee Pryde is a distinguished interdisciplinary artist and curator, renowned for their profound exploration of identity, access, and nostalgia through their mastery in jewelry, sculpture, and high craft techniques. They are celebrated for their ability to challenge and redefine the boundaries between art and craft, integrating sculpture, textiles, and visual arts into unconventional pieces of adornment and wares.
Pryde's work has garnered acclaim in prestigious publications such as Refinery29, CBC Life, PAPER Magazine, FASHION Magazine, and Trendhunter, and they have contributed insightful articles to MAKERS Magazine and Art Zealous. Their jewelry and art have been exhibited in major cities across the nation. Pryde was honoured to collaborate with Glenbow Museum in 2019 and earned the esteemed title of 2021 Artist of the Year by Maison Simons/Fabrique 1840. Pryde's journey in the arts is marked by a rich tapestry of experiences. They pursued Fine Arts at UBCO and obtained a diploma in Design and Formation from Langara College. Their travels globally underscored the significance of durability and heritage in jewelry making. This quest led them to Australia, where they completed a diploma in Metalsmithing at TAFE in Perth, initiating a decades-long investigation into contemporary jewelry and adornment.
Integrating over two decades of artistic exploration with significant experience in leadership roles, Pryde has crafted a unique line of adornment and wares, Subject·Object, (which was once the moniker, Le Lou Ula and originally Wolf + Sadie). Their latest project, White Rabbit Atelier, provided a gallery-style retail space supporting over 50 artists and designers.
